Literature Text

Sending apples into the sky

Two points at the tip of two adjacent worlds,
Where emerald leaved trees of ebony grow intertwined,
From their bent black branches hanging crisp red fruit,
Lit like lights in a sea of green stars.

You and I,
Paralleled across a universe,
Stand inches apart; though we are worlds away.

We pluck red stars from a jade sky,
And let their bright lights fall across the timeless space between us,
Drifting.

Wishing hopelessly into the night for them to reach us,
In the fleeting dream that we could transcend the space between,
We hollowly hope for the lights to spark our hearts with flame.

And give remembrance to the love we shared,
Even if only for a passing second.

So, as were sending apples into the sky,
We pray for more than our inevitable goodbye.
